Furnish a church in Guatemala.

More than 134 churches must be adapted from their Catholic past to Orthodox worship. They have nothing yet, and the need is for everything. Choose what you would like to give; on request, your name is inscribed on it.

A parish church interior today, set up for Mass, with plastic chairs and bare walls

Item 103 · $100 each

Fill the iconostasis, one icon at a time.

Each regional church needs an iconostasis, the screen of icons before the altar. Every panel below is one of the 100 icons still to be painted. Each one fills in when it is given.

Donors of a church, or of a cross with the crucified Christ, receive photographs of the installed item and its location, and we look forward to welcoming you in person. You are welcome to ship an item directly to Guatemala, but freight often costs more than the item itself; materials and labor are far less expensive there.

Transform a whole church

Dedicate a church to the saint of your choosing.

We welcome any donor who wishes to undertake the complete transformation of a particular building, dedicated to the patron saint of their choosing.

We pray to see churches dedicated to the Nativity or the Resurrection of Christ, to the Annunciation or the Dormition of the Theotokos, and to Saint Paisios, Saint Demetrios, and Saint Nicholas throughout Guatemala.

Any amount

Donate any amount, once or monthly

Not every gift needs an item attached. A one-time gift of any size, or a monthly gift, sustains the clergy who drive two to four hours to every liturgy. Even a dollar a month helps.

Other ways to donate

Donate with Zelle

Send your gift with Zelle to 520-481-3689. Zelle has no processing fees, so the whole gift reaches Guatemala.

To designate your gift for an item or a church, add it to the Zelle memo or write to us. For a receipt, send us your name and email.

Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Every dollar is designated to a named church or clergyman in Guatemala. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 42-4391059; our IRS determination letter is available on request. See our policies for how designated gifts, inscriptions, and refunds are handled.
